Vintage Effect

Sometimes in layout images, you want to get a certain feel of an older era. Here's a way you can bring the effect to your graphics. I'm going to start out with this image:


Step .001 Open GIMP and create a new image; the atributes identical to those of the image(s) you are planning to use. Paste your image in. CRTL-L and right click on the pasted layer. Select "New Layer".
Step .002 Go to Colors>Color Balance and change your settings to the ones I have below.




Step .003 Merge your layers down, save, and upload to your server. This is what I turned out with.
