  • Hello there. My name is Dretta; probably one of the most un-average pre-teen girls you'll ever meet. I have unhealthy obsessions with photography, web design, and older shows like Star Trek and The Twilight Zone- both of them the original series; Star Trek being with William Shatner as Captain Kirk and The Twilight Zone in black and white. Some of the newer shows get on my nerves; the actors have no respect for the art of acting but still go out there and put their nonexistent talent on display. I'm a bit of a nerd, but probably one of the least academic head-strong ones you'll ever meet. My last report GPA had averaged out to about 3.7 which is pretty low on the Asian smart-chart. That's right. This Dretta chick is half Asian, Taiwanese to be specific. I was born in Taipei, but live in the San Fransisco, California area.

It's kind of funny- I don't look Asian at all. I have a darker chestnut hair color (not nearly as black as your 'typical asian') and olive skin, mostly from my dad's side. I'm also relatively tall, 5'6.5", and *cough* not too skinny. It's okay though, I'd like to think that I make up for my structure with my sense of humor. xD I wear skinny jeans, but not the kind that cuts off the circulation to your legs. I tend to wear a lot of Earth tones, and my hair's almost always up in a ponytail. People might think I'm a bit of a tomboy, and that's okay with me. My image isn't honestly something I care about.

As for my taste in music, I love to listen to basically every genre, excluding rap. If you honestly do consider rap a genre of music. Some day the world will realize that music is like candy- we need to throw out all of the rappers. But back on track; (I do this a lot) some of my all-time favorite bands are Linkin Park and Tokio Hotel. You can call Bill Kaulitz gay all you want, but his music is deeper than your insults will ever be. So there. :)

My interests do infact stray away from the computer. I've played the piano for nearing 9 years now, and have passed 4 Certifficate of Merrit Piano state tests and have been accepted into convention twice, both were in Los Angeles. I love to play the piano; every time my fingers touch the keyboard I feel like I'm merging my soul and inner thoughts with the music I play. My favorite piece of all time (well as of now at least) is Tarantella by Albert Pieczonka. Someday I will video tape myself playing it and put it on YouTube for the world to appreciate my greatness. ^^

I also enjoy reading; its always what saves me from death by boredom. I honestly can't stand Twilight no matter how popular it may be or will get with the rest of my generation. The best vampire book I've ever read other than the classic Dracula has to be Interview With the Vampire by Anne Rice, which is literally about an interview with a vampire and his life story. A super good read- go check it out at your library. :D

I started this whole graphic design thing when I was 8 years old, and things started out pretty rough. I had began my graphic making hobby on Neopets, and at the time graphic making was all the vogue and it was hard to get on top of everybody else and their original styles. I had originally worked with MS Paint, then Photoshop, and now I'm back down to a free program, GIMP. I love this program to bits- lots of bang for absolutely no buck! I reccomend this program to everyone I know, and they all love it aswell. So if you're tired of MS Paint or want to go back to something worthy of use by Dreta, (ha ha) definately turn to GIMP.
