The Girl Behind The Curtain
Writing about myself isn't one of my strong points- I'll either write too
much or too little; either way I think I end up boring people to tears.
Well here goes.
My birth name is Alexandra, but I was nicknamed Dretta by some of my online
buddies when I first started out. Dretta means something along the lines of
creative and musical in some European language; now that I try to think about
it my mind goes completely blank. It does this sometimes, and typically
leads to my inevitable procrastination sessions. Eh, onwards.
I was born on the 27th of October in 1996 on a little island off the east
coast of China by the name of TAIWAN. My mom's Taiwanese and my dad's
German. I don't bear any resemblence to either of them, and the only other
person that looks somewhat like me is my little brother. I guess we're both
weirdos.
I'm 13 years old, putting me smack dab in the middle of the 8th grade.
I'm taking Spanish II as my elective this year, along with two out of the
four honors classes offered at my junior high school. Yeah, I can code
websites but I can't get into honors math or science. Fail.
I'm not a school-hater, but there are definitely other things I'd love to do
with those 6 hours out of a day. For example..
I have a major obsession with photography. You see a puddle, I see art.
You'll also see me lying down next to the puddle to ensure the greatness
of the picture. My dream is to become a photographer for National Geographic;
to be able to travel all over the world and take pictures of daily life and
animals in different countries. That'd be so cool. :3 I love my camera to
death; his name is Bob, he's 10 megapixels, and doesn't fail me 98% of the
time. He's like my best friend. Which is really sad, but true. X)
I have an even major-er obsession with music. I listen to it, I perform it,
I love it. I've played the piano for 9 years and even though it's taken
all my strength and devotion to keep on practicing for that long, it's a
very rewarding hobby. In those 9 years I've taken 4 Certificate of Merrit
tests and have been accepted to two conventions, one in Los Angeles, and
the other in Santa Clara. If being a photographer for National Geographic
doesn't work out I'd really want to go and study music at The Juilliard in
New York. That'd also be super sweettt. (:
As for this whole web design thing it's been going on since I was 8. I started
off on Neopets, then moved to Freewebs, then was hosted by lunascopee.org
until she decided to shut down the site- which resulted in my first domain
of my very own: SplatteredCanvas. SplatteredCanvas' second birthday will be
on the 24th of Janurary this year. (:
