Changing to PHP is, in my opinion, one of the best things you can do for your site. It makes changing your layouts easier, and as opposed to iFrames, it
allows your users to bookmark specific pages, instead of just the index page.
I've seen a lot of tutorials to help you along to convert to PHP, but a lot of them are pretty vague and give you just a foggy idea of what you're supposed
to do, and then you end up pushing off your conversion.
So let's start off at the beginning. Your two best friends from now on are your header and your footer;
Header
<? include('header.php'); ?>
Footer
<? include('footer.php'); ?>
Now what do you do with this header and footer thing you speak of? Well, all of the coding in front of your body (the text portion that you've written
for your viewers) goes in your header. For example, this is my header. Just my header image?
Nope. All of my CSS, positioning for the body, Doctype, and header is there, too. And your footer... Well, basically everything that goes after your body.
For instance I have my navigation bar in my footer, just so I can easily access it when I need to without having to dig through all of the layout coding.
You want to see my footer? Ahh... here you go. ^^;
So now you know what goes where, this is just an example of how your coding should look.
<? include('header.php'); ?>
Good morning sunshine, the earth says hello. ;D
<? include('footer.php'); ?>
So while your pasting the header and footer onto every single page of yours, you also want to change each page's file extension to PHP. And while you're
doing this you might as well change to external CSS
Good luck. ;D

Welcome
... to the second home of a questionably sane American teenager.
Look through what's become of her boredom, and eventually you'll find
something you like.
Hi there, you can call me Alex. I'm just your abnormal American teenager.
I like show tunes, indie music, photography, tea, and just about every
bright color you can think of.
What else could you ever so possibly want to
know?
